Accounting Manager

Boston, MA/Austin, TX

Position Overview

  • Managing of Finance Staff
  • Provide weekly cash flow projections, daily banking relations and debt management.
  • Oversee month-end closing process and preparation of related schedules and reporting
  • Manage journal entries, reconciliations and commissions
  • Maintain relationship with India accounting team to ensure timely closing, customer invoicing, and accurate transaction coding in support of management accounting guidelines
  • Manage Revenue Recognition process and ensure accuracy of WIP
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting requirements and Board financial presentation packages, including calculation of KPI’s and other necessary metrics.
  • Project Controlling to include project profitability analysis and purchase order management
  • Assist with cost and pricing analysis, Budget financial modeling, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain internal policies/procedures
  • Manage all periodic governmental filings (property tax, sales tax, etc.)
  • Maintain procedures and controls related to functional effectiveness of ERP system
  • Establish policies and controls and serve as primary liaison for Audits
  • Assist with management of Global systems integrations
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experienced leader, must effectively delegate tasks, motivate and mentor staff, set goals and monitor performance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups, Pivot tables and formula driven data.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with off-shore teams preferred


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Management
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience supervising Financial department
  • Strong accounting technical skills including the ability to prepare accurate financial reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creative and innovative, organized, detail-oriented, and high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
